Ayrshire Police Divisional Commander, Chief Superintendent Faroque Hussain has shared a heart-warming note for their work in the line of duty.
The hand-written letter deatils how officers saved a man's life and how grateful his family and friends are for this.
On sharing the letter, Mr Hussain said: "This is exactly why so many of us join the police.
"Policing is so much more than mere law enforcement!"

The letter reads: "Dear Officers,
"On behalf of blank family and friends, we wanted say a massive thank you for saving his life.
"All the officers who searched for him to the officers who found him, we will forever be in your debt.
"There are no sufficient words that we can say other than thank you.
"You have given blank a second chance at life."
