Kilwinning residents turned out to remember the fallen as the town marked Remembrance Sunday

A reduced service was held at the cenotaph on Sunday, November 11 organised by Kilwinning’s Royal British Legion Scotland branch – with a service held in the old parish church.

Cllr Donald Reid said: “Kilwinning recognised the 11th hour with a reduced service at The Cenotaph conducted by the Reverend John Gillies and officers of the Kilwinning Branch of the British Legion.

“A large number of organisations limited to two persons per organisation laid wreaths and those who have fought to protect were honoured and remembered as always.

"Kilwinning Old Parish Church also held a lovely service and was aired online for those who could not attend in person.

“My thanks to the Legion and the church for maintaining the normal high standards in continuing difficult and changing circumstances this year.”
