The A78 has reopened following a two-car crash near West Kilbride where a 59-year-old man was hospitalised.
The man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow to be treated for his injuries.
The road was closed for nearly three hours in both directions following the incident where police and ambulance service were in attendance.
A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: "Around 2.45pm on Wednesday, 17 November, officers attended a road crash involving two cars on the A78 near to West Kilbride.
"Police and Ambulance attended and the road was closed. A 59-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and the road was reopened around 5.50pm. Enquiries are ongoing."
