CalMac have cancelled all ferries to Arran today following a weather warning issued by the Met Office.

There are no sailings between Ardrossan and Brodick today as Storm Arwen rolls in.

Calmac have also confirmed to the Herald that the alternative route from Lochranza to Claonaig in Argyll has also been canceled.

The Met office warned Scots to brace themselves for high winds and transport disruption when the warning that covered nearly all of Scotland was issued on Tuesday.

The yellow weather warning for North Ayrshire is in place from this afternoon [Friday, November 26] until Saturday at 6pm.

Storm Arwen has since been upgraded to an amber warning in eastern parts of the country, which will bare the full brunt of the storm bringing strong winds across parts of Scotland.
