The Care Academy was developed by North Ayrshire Council’s Employability and Skills team and is delivered by CEIS Ayrshire, who are contracted by the council.
The training programme runs year-round, with the aim of helping those interested in a career in care to acquire the skills they need - and there’s a guaranteed interview with NAHSCP’s Care at Home Team on completion.
The scheme has helped 22 people into employment with NAHSCP to date and is open to anyone of employment age.
It involves participants being supported to complete qualifications including Understanding Your Role in Care, Safeguarding Adults, Person-Centred Care, Dignity and Privacy, Nutrition and Hydration, Infection Control and Health and Safety in a Care Setting.
CEIS Ayrshire staff are also on hand to assist with job application forms, and participants will learn interview skills and undertake mock interviews to help guide them through the process and gain confidence.
If you’re a compassionate and caring person who doesn’t yet have the necessary experience to begin your career in care, the CEIS Ayrshire Care Academy could be for you. To find out more, call 07960145419.
