The Scottish Centre for Personal Safety are celebrating after receiving £9,435 from the National Lottery for new gym equipment for their Barony St John Centre.

The charity have received the National Lottery funding to support its work with female survivors of violence and other vulnerable groups.

Alan Bell, founder of ScotCPS, says: “We’re delighted that The National Lottery Community Fund has recognised our work in this way. Now, thanks to National Lottery players we will be able to press on with our plans to broaden the range of opportunities available to local service users.

“This is important because it helps vulnerable people to build relationships with others facing similar challenges and to create their own supportive circles of friends and peers.”

The group, based in the Barony St John Centre on Princes Street, Ardrossan will use the cash to purchase new gym equipment which will allow them to run group exercise and fitness classes for vulnerable service users including North Ayrshire Women’s Aid.
