THE Saltcoats, Ardrossan and Stevenston branch of one of the military’s biggest charities has appointed a new chaplain.
Reverend Don Currie has accepted the role at the local Royal British Legion branch.
According to the Legion, the Reverend has been involved for many years.
He said last week: “As a minister I’d like to think I have my feet on the ground in terms of being involved in the life of the local community wherever I’ve been.
“In many ways, that’s what’s led me to my Chaplaincy involvement with RBLS SAS Branch.
“I fully recognise and appreciate that there are freedoms that we have today that we would not have but for the service and sacrifice of many in our armed forces.
“And so, in that regard, I’m privileged to serve as your Chaplain, and I thank you for your service.”
