North Ayrshire residents, businesses, schools and community groups have been thanked for their amazing and colourful charity efforts to raise nearly £15,000 on Go Purple Day.

Purple people were spotted all over Ayrshire on Friday, October 8 as individuals, groups and businesses hosted purple themed events for Go Purple, a major fundraising campaign for Ayrshire Hospice.

This year’s campaign also crossed with National Hospice Care Week which helps to raise the profile of hospice care in the UK.

Many schools and businesses across North Ayrshire joined in the purple fun including; Kilwinning Academy, Gallagher Healthcare, Nellany & Co Solicitors, Stanley Primary School, Irvine Royal Academy, Thistle Help and The Turf in Irvine to name but a few.

Claire Stuart-Paulin, Senior Fundraiser at Ayrshire Hospice said: “A huge thanks go to the North Ayrshire community who once again pulled out all the purple stops on Go Purple Day in aid of the Hospice.

“We are so grateful for your support, creativity and energy.

“This is the tenth year we have celebrated Go Purple and what a year it has been.

“Funds have been flooding in over the past six weeks and we are delighted to announce the campaign has raised an incredible £14,780.”

With lots of new things being introduced to Go Purple next year, the Ayrshire Hospice say it’s time to save the date; Friday, October 14 2022.

Look out for ways to get involved soon and help turn Ayrshire Purple.
