Beith Juniors manager Bryan Young says his side are too ‘inconsistent’ as he reflects on their 2021/22 campaign so far.

In the cups, the Cabes are still going strong in the South Challenge Cup and West of Scotland Football League (WoSFL) Cup, however their Scottish Junior Cup run ended in a 6-0 defeat to Gartcairn in the Third Round.

In the league, the Mighty are currently sitting in eighth place in the WoSFL Premier Division table, with nine wins, five draws and six losses.

Young said: “We are sitting in eighth and for a club like Beith, eighth is not good enough if I am being honest.

“I think it has been quite an inconsistent season and that is probably reflected in where we are in the league.

“There have been some great results, such as the win over Kilbirnie, which on a personal level for me was fantastic.

“Another couple of big performances came against Hurlford United and Rossvale, with some big wins.

“But there have been some really terrible results and some average.

“Some people will look at it and say it is decent that we are out of the danger zone. But you want to be up there challenging.”
