A North Ayrshire based trade union is looking out for those who need it this Christmas, after donating a four-figure sum to various food banks.
NHS Ayrshire & Arran’s UNITE Branch (SC/157) donated £1,500 to Ayrshire foodbanks, split equally amongst them, in their effort to make sure that no one goes hungry this Christmas.
An online statement said: “We hope this will go some way to help with the amazing work that the foodbanks do.”
It continued: “We have seen yet another
incredibly difficult year and are facing probably the hardest winter within the NHS in history and so it must be acknowledged that every single member of staff has gone, and continues to go, above and beyond.
“I think we are all very grateful to our amazing staff.”
