THE Met Office has updated its weather warning for Ayrshire at the end of this week.
The forecaster's advice for people in the area to 'be aware' of difficult weather conditions is now in place from 8pm on Thursday, January 6 until 11am the following day.
Previously the warning was in place from midnight until 10am on Friday.
The Met Office says frequent sleet, hail and snow showers could affect northern and western parts of Scotland tomorrow evening, possibly leading to travel disruption fromThursday night until Friday afternoon.
It can be expected that some roads and railway lines are likely to be affected during these times with longer journey times by car and public transport anticipated.
There will also be icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
