A stunning sunset over Stevenston Beach has been VisitScotland’s most popular social media post of Ayrshire and Arran in 2021.
The sky ablaze over the North Ayrshire coastline was captured by Darren Tomlie (@darren655 on Instagram) and was liked just over 46,000 times when it was shared on VisitScotland’s Instagram account, making it the highest performing post of the region last year.
VisitScotland regional director Gordon Smith said: “The rich history and vibrancy of Ayrshire and Arran and the stunning scenery and sights on offer in the wider area are a fantastic source of inspiration for photographers and this image has captured some of the many reasons visitors are drawn to the region."
