A body believed to be missing Saltcoats man Jamie Cannon has been discovered in Ardeer.
Police confirmed inquiries are ongoing to identify the man after he was found at 4.30pm on Saturday adding the family of missing Jamie Cannon have been informed.
Jamie, 20, was last seen on Kinnier Road at around 10am on Thursday, May 20 last year. He was reported missing on Saturday, May 22.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 4.30pm on Saturday, February 26, 2022 we received a call that a body had been discovered in the Ardeer area of Stevenston.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and identity.
"The family of missing man Jamie Cannon have been informed.”
