A remembrance service was held recently to pay respects to those who lost their lives aboard HMS Dasher, which sank between Ardrossan and Brodick during the Second World War.
A parade gathered on Ardrossan promenade on Sunday, March 27, before forming up and marching, along with a band and colour party, to Dasher Memorial gardens.
The remembrance service was then held, where wreaths and crosses were laid as a mark of respect.
HMS Dasher exploded and sank on the same day as the service was held, in 1943. The remains of the carrier still lie beneath the water in the Firth of Clyde.
This event was part of the RBLS, SAS branch’s Dasher memorial weekend.
