Funds awarded as pool group plan to make big splash
Funds have been secured for plans to revitalise the outdoor pool in Saltcoats.
Saltcoats Splash group were awarded £24,600 from NAC’s Place based investment fund for a feasibility study to go ahead with leading architects Studio Octupi.
A spokesperson said: “A feasibility study will provide information for us to fully consider the best options for re-opening our pool and how much this could cost.
“It’s an excellent opportunity to bring a safe outdoor swimming and water activity space. Outdoor swimming is very popular and this is the right time to make sure we make the most of what we have.
“In 1934 it was the massive tidal pool in Scotland and the envy of many. Lets revive our pool and make a huge splash.”
