Beith Juniors have parted company with manager Bryan Young after a run of results that the club said "have not been good enough".

The former Auchinleck Talbot man had been in charge at Bellsdale for more than two years, having taken the reins following Johnny Millar's surprise resignation in January 2020.

The dismissal came only hours after his side's humiliating 8-1 loss at the hands of Largs Thistle yesterday (April 20) - a side they defeated 5-0 earlier in the season.

The club confirmed the news with a statement on Twitter.

They said: "Beith Juniors have tonight parted company with manager Bryan Young.

"Ultimately results on the park have not been good enough with only two wins in our last 11 matches.

"The club would like to thank Bryan for all of his efforts over the past two years or so, managing the club through some difficult times with Covid affected seasons. These efforts were very much appreciated by all at the club.

"The club invite interest in the vacant manager's position - interested parties should contact secretary Chris Irving via info@beithjuniors.com."

Beith currently sit eleventh place in the West of Scotland Football League Premiership, on 47 points after 33 games.

They are seven points clear of the relegation zone, with five games remaining in their season.
