A PLANNING application has been submitted to North Ayrshire Council which would see two buildings in Beith, which currently sit empty, transformed into 11 flats.
The properties in question are the former Anderson Hotel, situated on 15-17 Eglinton Street, and an old restaurant, known as the Merchant’s Yarn, located on 4-6 Strand.
The vacant hotel building would see a change of use to become five flats.
While the second building would be demolished to make way for a three-storey building, which would create six flats.
The application was received by the council at the end of last month and is pending consideration.
The proposal states: “The completed development would return character and style back to the centre of the town whilst enhancing the existing buildings around.”
