Dog owners can learn how to deal with emergencies that may arise at home or on a walk with a canine first aid course.
The one-day training course will take place on Saturday, June 11 at Geilsand Country Estate and costs £55 to attend.
It comes amidst a boom in dog ownership in the UK, where 3.5 million of the animals were purchased during the pandemic. This took the number of canines in the country up from nine million in 2019/2020 to 12.5 million in 2020/21, according to a report by Statista.
On the day, candidates will learn about canine anatomy and physiology, how to deal with common illnesses and management of traumatic injuries.
Those who complete the course will receive a nationally recognised level two qualification in first aid and ongoing support through weekly instructional videos.
