Ardrossan Highland Games have announced their Chieftain for this year’s Highland Games.
The tournament organisers confirmed that Saltcoats man Alec Wilkie, will be the head of the 2022 tournament.
Mr Wilkie is the proprietor of local design business Clyde Studios and spent most of his childhood growing up in the area where he still resides today with his wife Lesley.
He has been a long time supporter of the games, along with many other local organisations and is an active member of the Saltcoats Christmas carnival Committee.
The new Chieftain was “humbled and honoured to accept” the offer from the Games.
Games Chairman, Alastair Arnott, said: “Firstly, we are delighted to be back after missing out on the last few years due to the difficulty and challenging times and thrilled that Alec is going to be our chieftain.
“We look forward to meeting old friends and making new ones at memorial playing fields on June 12.”
