NORTH Ayrshire police have confirmed that a juvenile will be reported following a fire-raising incident at a Kilwinning park last week.

A trampoline in the town's McGavin Park was reportedly damaged on Tuesday afternoon (June 14), with a social media video appearing to show two young suspects also setting fire to a bin.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said a crew attended the scene shortly before 4pm following "reports of a rubbish fire" in the park.

Kilwinning councillor Donald Reid said a trampoline had been damaged "beyond repair" as a result of the vandalism, while Sergeant Allen Dodds of the Kilwinning Locality Policing Team previously told the Herald that enquiries were "ongoing to establish the full circumstances".

In an update shared this morning (Wednesday), North Ayrshire police said: "Following a fire at McGavin Park in Kilwinning on June 14, one juvenile will be reported in relation to the incident. The fire was extinguished by @fire_scot.

"No one was injured. Joint inputs to schools by police and SFRS are taking place."
