AN ARDROSSAN man is appealing for the public's help - to avoid losing his "best bud".

William Beck's pet dog Blu broke two bones in one of his legs, meaning he is in desperate need of medical attention.

But the cost-of-living crisis means William has found himself unable to fund the expensive surgery his pet needs.

William says that if he does not raise the £1,800 required by tomorrow - Friday July 8 - he will have to sign the 10-month-old pup over to the RSPCA.

Although this would mean the German shepherd cross whippet would get the help he needs, William says he would not be able to get his pet pooch back, and he would be rehomed.

In a desperate social media plea, William said: "It will be the worst day of my life if I have to give up my boy, just so he can get the help he needs. I am genuinely heart broken.

"I can’t help him. I don’t want to have to sign him over to the RSPCA. They're telling me that I’ll need to on Friday if I don’t have enough for his operation.

"I’ve tried every vets, every charity, PDSA, nowhere will help him. It couldn’t have happened at a worse time for money.

"I never knew about insurance, it’s a lesson we’ll learn, I hope it just doesn’t cost my best pal. I am asking for help."

William's fundraiser for Blu is available here, and at the time of writing, he is slightly more than one-third a third of the way to his £1,800.
