AN OPEN golf competition is to be held at Beith Golf Club next month, with a total prize pot of £400.

This will take place on Saturday, August 13, with the entry fee being £8. There is also an addition twos sweep available.

The competition at the Threepwood Road golf club will also feature several longest drive and nearest the pin competitions at various points throughout the round.

There are two lots of tee times for the event, as the course has nine holes with two sets of tees, with early times being from 7.30am to 9am and later times from 11am to 1pm. The prizegiving will take place later in the evening, from 6pm.

The competition, sponsored by Gleddoch Family Butchers, will be played as an 18-hole strokeplay contest.

Entry is open now, and those wishing to take part are encouraged to enter via the Scottish Golf app.
