CRIMINALS in the Three Towns were set to be given a wheely hard time by the local force’s two new cycle-mounted officers.
Saltcoats-based Constables Gordon Moncrieff and Jim Kiernan were fully trained and up to date with the latest biking techniques, in order to patrol the local streets on their top-of-the-range mountain bikes.
The new scheme aims at tackling local crime by allowing a quicker reaction time to incidents and also give easier access to some crime scenes.
