A man has been held in custody after allegedly banging on a lady’s car window and causing her fear and alarm.

John McArthur, 64, allegedly behaved in a threatening or abusive manner during an incident on July 23 at Dock Road, Ardrossan – while the accused was residing at the Princes Street Hostel.

Court papers state McArthur shouted, swore, acted in an aggressive manner, by repeatedly banging on a car window whilst it was occupied by a woman.

He pleaded not guilty with a trial date set for later this month.

He was remanded in custody.
