JUST one complaint was made about Junction 1 at the weekend – after bosses were forced to remove the main stage.

The Glasgow festival, based in the Morris Park Complex in Oatlands, has been hosting gigs and DJ performances over the last few weeks.

But after receiving 215 noise complaints from residents over two weekends, Glasgow City Council decided to prohibit the use of the main stage at the outdoor venue last Wednesday.

Events held since have been located indoors and in a smaller garden area.

This weekend, a single complaint was made to the council, and it was found to be unjustified.

A council spokeswoman said: “Our Environmental Health officers monitored sound levels at Junction 1 at the weekend and they were well below the level set in their licence conditions.

“We received one anonymous complaint which, on investigation, was found to be unjustified.”

We previously reported that the venue was found to be in breach of the maximum decibel limit on Friday, August 6 and Saturday, August 7.

The council’s licensing and environmental health officers then held an urgent meeting with the licence holder to discuss the noise complaints and the breach of licensing conditions – which resulted in the main stage being removed.

On Wednesday, August 17, reggae star, Hempress Sativa, will headline Junction 1 for an all women concert celebrating Marcus Garvey Day 2022.

And on Saturday, a hip hop karaoke event will take place.
