THE mum of Kilwinning’s ‘Wee Warrior’ Kieran Crichton is hosting a black tie event to give back to the charities who helped her son recover from cancer.

Taking place on Friday, September 16 in the Riverside Lodge Hotel, Senga Crichton is holding the first Warriors Ball in support of Glasgow Children’s Hospital and Calum’s Cabin who helped her Kieran through his devastating illness.

Purchasing a ticket to the black tie event will allow attendees to enjoy a three-course meal, live entertainment, and a wine reception.

Speaking in 2020, Senga said: “The hospital charity did a lot for Kieran.

“Calum’s Cabin give families a holiday to help bond with each other after long stays in hospital.

“Kieran really came alive and was so happy as he could go all around independently unlike in our own house. He was so happy there.”

Kieran was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer called Medulloblastoma in March 2018 when he was just 12-years-old.

The illness resulted in Kieran undergoing surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy.

Originally, the ball was intended to take place two years ago in 2020 but was unable to proceed due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The event starts at 6.30pm with tickets costing £50 per person.
