A BEITH takeaway has thanked its staff and customers past and present as it closed its doors for the last time.

Shirley’s Takeaway confirmed late last month that “due to a change in personal circumstances” Friday of last week (September 2) would be its last day in operation.

In a social media statement, they said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to all my staff, past and present, for their hard work and dedication over the last four years.

“The biggest thank you of all to our lovely customers for keeping us so busy, we will miss you all.”

The announcement by the Eglinton Street venue created great sadness for those in the Garnock Valley, with hundreds flocking to the comments section with messages of support.

One gutted Beith woman said: “So so sorry for you having to close your doors, we will sadly miss you and all the girls as your staff and yourself were amazing, and your food was 100 per cent. I wish this was not happening so so gutted.”

The owners are now looking to lease their premises to anyone else interested in the “exciting opportunity”.

Anyone looking to do so should contact ‘Shirley’s Takeaway’ on Facebook.
