A MAN who brandished a bottle at rail travellers on board a train and at Kilwinning's railway station has been jailed.

John Boyd was supposed to be at home when he committed the offence on August 6.

The 25-year-old pleaded guilty at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court to disorderly behaviour and breach of a bail condition.

Boyd admitted conducting himself in a disorderly manner by repeatedly shouting at people while also brandishing a bottle.

He also pleaded guilty to being in breach of a bail condition that required him to stay at his home address between 7pm and 7am.

Boyd was in fact the subject of two bail orders at the time: one granted at Ayr Sheriff Court on July 19, the second at Dumbarton Sheriff Court just two days before he committed the offences.

The offender, whose address was listed as Moorpark Crescent, Prestwick, was jailed for four months – backdated from August 8, when he was first remanded in custody - when he appeared in court on Tuesday, September 6.
