North Ayrshire Council have now confirmed when they will catch up on Monday's, September 19, postponed household wast collections.

Those due to have their bins emptied at the start of the week had to wait, as the service was cancelled so staff were able to pay their respects on the day of Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral.

In an initial statement, the council stated they would inform those who missed collection of when this waste would now be taken away.

They confirmed these dates this afternoon, September 22.

First of all, those in Irvine who were supposed to have their grey bins emptied on Monday should now present these for collection on Saturday September 24.

Those in Stevenston, Saltcoats and Ardrossan who missed out on their purple bin collections should also present these on Saturday.

In the Garnock Valley, anyone who missed their blue bin collection should present these from Monday September 26 - with collections taking place from then until Friday September 30.

This same principle applies in West Kilbride in reference to missed purple bin collections. These should be presented on Monday to be collected between then and Friday September 30.

While all areas due to have their brown bins emptied, with the exception of Sklemorie, should present these from from Monday September 26 - with collections taking place from then until Friday September 30.

This also applies to all areas awaiting rural narrow collection beats.

Catch up commercial waste collections will be made between Monday September 26 to Friday September 30.

North Ayrshire Council ask that all bins are presented at kerbside for 7am, ready for collection.
