North Ayrshire youth groups can apply for up to £10,000 to fund ideas that would improve children’s mental health – but applications are closing soon.

The North Ayrshire Mental Health Commission are working in partnership with the National Lottery Improving Lives and Awards for All to donate between £300 - £10,000 to youth groups.

Applications for the North Ayrshire Young People's Mental Health Participatory Budget (NAMHCPB) close on Sunday October 16, the project must help, aid, or improve young peoples’ mental health and come from a constituted group.

Councillor Nairn McDonald, the project’s leader, said: “This funding will be transformational, as the Project Lead for the Mental Health Commission I am so proud of the work our young people have done to get us to this stage and would urge all groups who work with young people to apply for some funding.

“Those who get through will go to a vote of the entire youth population of North Ayrshire in November.”

Groups are required to put NAMHCPB in front of their application so that it can be identified.

Applications will take around 12 weeks to process and successful applicants will be notified via email, receiving their funding within 14 days of the notice.
