A TALENTED Saltcoats soprano has decided to bring her talents to Seamill Beach tonight, Friday September 23.

Katie Cochrane, BMus Classical music graduate from Edinurgh Napier University, will be performing an "impromptu opera at the beach" from 7pm.

The event will be held on the area of the beach next the the car park at the bottom of Hyndman Road.

No invites are necessary and the performance, which will take place for around 30 minutes, will be open for all to attend.

Katie told the Herald: "I am interested in being the community together for a positive experience and an opportunity to bring joy through music.

"Quite often, opera and classical seems inaccessible to people and I thought this idea would make it more visible for people to come and enjoy an evening at their local beach.

"Singing is something I have done my whole life and I’m really excited to be sharing it with local friends and family."

For anyone planning to attend, it is recomended that you bring blankets, deck chairs and flasks to ensure you are able to enjoy the classical repertoire to it's fullest.

Katie is a fully trained soprano, and has been exploring putting on performances like this since moving back to Ayrshire from Edinburgh.
