Five planning applications in the Largs area have been approved by council planners throughout September.

Here's a brief lowdown on each of the approved applications in the past month...

HOUSE EXTENSION - 67 GLENACRE DRIVE

Planners issued a certificate for a single storey extension to the rear of an end-terraced dwelling house at 67 Glenacre Drive on September 17.

Planners said: "The extension would not exceed an overall height of 4m, the eaves would not exceed 3m in height and it would not exceed 50 per cent of the area of the front or rear curtilage, respectively.

"Given the above, planning permission is not required, the proposal would be lawful, and a Certificate of Lawfulness can be issued."

HOUSE EXTENSION - NODDSDALE COTTAGE

An extension to this property at Noddsdale Cottage was approved by planners with no conditions.

Planners said: "The extension would be to the side of the property and essentially comprise an in-fill between parts of the existing house. It would be modest in scale and clearly subservient to the main house.

"Given the glazed nature of the new elevation and the choice of zinc roof, the original shape of the house would still be easily identified. The extension would have no impact on neighbouring properties and would aid the reconfiguration of the house."

ERECTION OF DWELLING HOUSE - 21 HILL STREET

Planners approved the erection of a detached dwelling house to the south east of 21 Hill Street.

Planning permission had previously been approved for the erection of a house on the site, and this application was an update on that.

Officers approved the application on the basis that the developers followed a number of conditions, including providing details of finishes and road signs to improve safety.

TWO STOREY EXTENSION - 23 GREENOCK ROAD

Planners approved this two storey extension at 23 Greenock Road back on September 14.

Officers, who attached no conditions to the approval, said: "The proposal would allow for a 2-storey extension to the main dwellinghouse for the enjoyment of existing and future occupants.

"Given that the proposal is in accordance with the relevant policies of the LDP, it is considered that planning permission can be granted."

HOUSE EXTENSION - 4 GLENACRE DRIVE

Officers approved this extension to the side of a detached home at 4 Glenacre Drive with no conditions.

Planners, who approved the application on September 9, said: "It would allow space for a bedroom and kitchen.

"There would be ample garden grounds remaining and it would not impact off-street parking."
