Police Scotland is looking to reassure communities following tensions in areas of England and specifically in Leicester.
Assistant Chief Constable Gary Ritchie has confirmed that no disorder has been reported in Scotland linked to the tensions down south, but says officers continue to monitor developments.
He said: “We are committed to keeping people safe, and whilst we understand that people may have concerns as a result of these incidents.
“I would encourage you to inform Police Scotland of any increased tensions or any emerging risks, in addition to any other community concerns, you become aware of.
“If you have any information or concerns, I would urge you to contact the Police either by calling 101 or dial 999, or by contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
