The Ardrossan Community Development Trust (ACDT) Annual General Meeting is now to be held on November 2 at 5.30pm at the Frank Sweeney Centre, 84-86 Glasgow St, Ardrossan, following a date change.

The meeting was previously arranged for October 26 and all members are being encouraged to attend.

ACDT is an organisation which was formed in 2019 by local people from a group set up to initiate Ardrossan town centre regeneration.

The company has been formed to benefit principally the community of Ardrossan, to advance community development, including urban and rural regeneration and the improvement of the communities physical, economic, social and cultural infrastructure.

At present the Trust have been working towards securing tenure of the land at south beach promenade, they have planning permission and are looking to redevelop the area providing a community hub which will encompass a café, changing places toilets, public toilets and a service kiosk for the trust’s wheeler and deckchair project.

Further development at the prom will include the regeneration of the crazy golf course, upgrading of the present playpark with an additional park to accommodate those with disabilities, and a hedge maze.

The Development Trust are planning for these projects to be in place by July 2023.

The Development Trust also exists for the advancement of education, training, arts, culture, heritage, sports, recreation, environmental improvement, social and economic wellbeing.
