PUPILS from a Kilwinning primary school have launched a Hallowe’en scavenger hunt, which the whole town can get involved in.

The idea is the brain child of St Winning’s Primary’s leadership group, which is led by their teachers Mr Ross (P6/7) and Mrs Phillips (P5/6).

The children in this group have been keen to promote Kilwinning, and their very own spooky scavenger hunt is how they have chosen to do so.

After discussions with their head teachers (Mrs McLaughlin and Mrs Milson) a Hallowe’en themed drawing competition was set.

The best entries from this competition are now being used as part of the scavenger hunt.

Mr Ross and Mrs Phillips organised for pupils from the leadership group to speak to local businesses on Main Street about displaying their winning posters.

Hidden within these posters (which have now been on display since October 15) is a letter - and when all the letters from the posters have been collected, they form one spooky phrase.

The children have been keen to make this hunt as inclusive as possible, so are now reaching out to the people of Kilwinning and the surrounding area to take part with them.

Attached is a ‘clue sheet’ which should help anyone taking part not only find the right letters, but keep a note of which ones they have found. We will post this poster online later this week - so keep an eye out!

Sheets can also be collected from the primary school, and Tesco Express on Kilwinning Main Street. Once the sheet has been filled, you should have your spooky word!

Completed sheets should be handed in to St Winning’s Primary school, and once the competition has concluded (on October 31) one lucky winner will receive a Hallowe’en goody

bag!
