A ‘BLUES legend’ who was set to open for Led Zeppelin’s frontman on a tour of America and Europe is to play in West Kilbride.

Catfish Keith will be playing at the Village Hall on Saturday, November 5.

Tickets cost £15 and can be purchased from the village hall, from 01294 824839 or via Eventbrite.

In a 30-year career, he has toured Europe and the UK 50 times and performed with some of the biggest names in blues, including Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker and Robert Cray.

Led Zep frontman Robert Plant is such a big fan that he invited him to open the show on each of the American and European tour dates he had planned in 2020.

A masterclass performer, and true bottleneck/guitar/blues legend, the award-winning three-times Grammy-nominated performer is frequently praised for his “breathtaking” stage style.

The show has been organised by promoters Vertex Visions, who will also be holding an exhibition at the Barony in West Kilbride of work by emerging and established artists.

The exhibition will run from October 27 to November 12 with a public launch at the Barony from 6.30pm on October 27.
