A MAN who had been arrested and charged in connection to a number of alleged house break-ins in Saltcoats has been released on bail.

It follows his first appearance at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court yesterday, October 20, to face the allegations.

Mark Gallacher faces three different charges in relation to "a number of alleged housebreakings" in Kennedy Road and Border Place on Tuesday, October 18.

The 55-year-old, who's general address is listed in court papers as Saltcoats, faces charges of theft, housebreaking, and being found in or on a building or other premises, or in a vehicle or vessel so that in all the circumstances it may reasonably be inferred that the he intended to commit theft there.

He entered no plea yesterday and will no be committed for further examination. Mr Gallacher was released on bail and is due to re-appear at a later date.
