A MAN was taken to hospital following a serious assault in Ardrossan earlier this week.
Part of Winton Street in the town was taped off on Tuesday night following the incident and police have now confirmed that they are "following a positive line of enquiry" with regards to tracing those responsible for the attack.
A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Herald: "[At] around 8.30pm on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, police were called to a report of a serious assault in Winton Street, Ardrossan.
"A man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.
"Officers are following a positive line of enquiry.
"There is no risk to the wider community.”
