STAFF at a Stevenston service station were threatened with a weapon in a terrifying robbery.

Now police are appealing for anyone with information to assist them in their investigation into this incident.

The alleged robbery took place late on Monday evening, November 21.

At around 11.45pm a man entered Ardeer Service Station, threatened a member of staff with a weapon, and demanded money.

He then made off on Glencairn Street with a two-figure sum of cash. 

The suspect is described as being of heavy build and was wearing a snood or similar to cover his face, a black beanie hat and a navy blue jacket. 

Detective Constable Bryn Meehan said: “Thankfully no-one was injured as a result of this incident but the staff member was left understandably shaken. 

“Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone with any information, including anyone else who was in the garage at the time to contact us. 

“I would also appeal to anyone who saw a man matching the description above in the area to get in touch.”
