A 60-year-old man has been arrested in connection to alleged drugs offences in Ardrossan.

The male was arrested, cautioned and charged following an intelligence-led operation by officers from North Ayrshire’s pro-active crime team.

They attended a property in Ardrossan yesterday, December 6, where a quantity of Class A, B and C controlled drugs worth an estimated street value of £1,000 were recovered along with a sum of cash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We’ve been made aware through responses to the 'Your Police' survey that people in Ayrshire are concerned about drug supply in their community.

Following an intelligence-led operation, officers from North Ayrshire’s Pro-Active Crime Team attended a property in Ardrossan on Tuesday, December 6.

"A quantity of Class A, B and C controlled drugs worth an estimated street value of £1,000 were recovered along with a sum of cash.

"A 60-year-old male has been arrested, cautioned and charged with drug-related offences.

"Police Scotland will continue to target and disrupt drug supply in all our communities.
