A 16-year-old male has been arrested in connection with a car chase through Stevenston.
This took place on Wednesday, December 21, evening and concluded near Stevenston Cross.
The alleged chase began in the New Street area of the town, when the offending vehicle failed to stop when signalled to by police.
Officers then had to travel in pursuit of the vehicle, before it eventually came to a stop on Boglemart Street.
No one was injured as a result of the chase, which eyewitnesses claim ended after the car was "bashed" off the road by police.
Another alleged that the chase "took place all through the bottom end of Stevenston".
A report on the incident will now be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A vehicle failed to stop when signalled by officers on New Street in Stevenston around 8.40pm on Wednesday, December 21.
“The vehicle was pursued and came to a stop in the Boglemart Street area. No one was injured.
“A 16-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
“Officers are continuing to carry out regular patrols in the Stevenston area to address local concerns about road traffic matters and this work will continue.”
