POLICE have arrested two men after a drugs bust at a property in Ardrossan.

Cops reportedly recovered Class A controlled drugs, associated paraphernalia and a "substantial sum of cash" after a raid at an undisclosed address in the town on Wednesday, December 21.

Police say the drugs had an estimated street value of £200. The amount of cash reportedly recovered from the property has not been revealed.

The bust followed an intelligence-led operation by North Ayrshire’s pro-active crime team.

Two men, aged 40 and 48, were arrested, cautioned and charged with drug-related offences following the search.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We’ve been made aware through responses to the 'Your Police' survey that people in Ayrshire are concerned about drug supply in their community.

"Following an intelligence-led operation, officers from North Ayrshire’s pro-active crime team attended a property in Ardrossan on Wednesday, December 21.

"A quantity of Class A controlled drugs worth an estimated street value of £200, associated drugs paraphernalia and a substantial sum of cash were recovered.

"A 48-year-old male and a 40-year-old male were arrested, cautioned and charged with drug-related offences.

"Police Scotland will continue to target and disrupt drug supply in all our communities."
