THE Scottish Ambulance Service is in the process of recruiting community first responders (CFR) in all villages of Arran.
CFR react to medical emergencies as part of the ambulance service’s immediate response to 999 calls on the island.
Their aim is to reach a potential life-threatening medical emergency in the first vital minutes, where their role is to stabilise the patient and provide care until ambulance crews are on the scene.
Previous medical experience is desirable but not essential for this role, though you must be over 18, have a driver's licence and be fit enough to perform CPR.
Training will be provided on the island through the ambulance service.
If you are interested in getting involved, for more information message Fiona Laing on Facebook.
