A MAN has been reported for alleged road traffic offences after a double-decker bus crashed in Dalry this morning (Wednesday, January 4).

A video shared on social media shows the aftermath of the smash in the Breahead area of the town with a stationary and empty X36 bus parked up on the road and a trail of destruction behind it.

One Facebook user said a garden wall had been taken out along with a gate and bushes, as the vehicle narrowly missed a house.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.45am on Wednesday, January 4, police attended a one vehicle road crash involving a bus on Braehead, Dalry.

"A 51-year-old man is subject of a report to the procurator fiscal for road traffic offences."

Police also confirmed that no ambulances were required to attend the scene.

Stagecoach earlier Tweeted that the Dalry-Glasgow service would not be operating at the time as the bus had "broken down".

A spokesperson for Stagecoach West Scotland told the Herald: "We can confirm that one of our buses on the X36 route in Dalry was involved in a road traffic accident on the B780 this morning.

"There were no reported injuries, and the vehicle has been removed.

"Safety is our primary concern, and we are investigating the cause of the incident."
