There’s only a month left to nominate your ‘local health hero’ for a prize at NHS Ayrshire and Arran’s Ayrshire Achieves Awards.

Nominations for the awards which look to celebrate staff achievements are set to close on March 3.

Chief executive of NHS Ayrshire & Arran, Claire Burden, said: “We know our staff go the extra mile for the people they care for every day.

“This is your chance to nominate your NHS or partnership star and give them the recognition they deserve.

“So, if you know of someone who deserves to be recognised, we would be delighted to hear from you.”

NHS staff can win a prize for the ‘caring for people’, ‘caring for each other’, ‘shining stars’, ‘thinking out of the box’, ‘collaboration and working together’, ‘making a difference with digital’, and ‘behind the scenes’ categories.

The awards are set to make their comeback on June 1 after the last ceremony was held in 2019.

Chair of Ayrshire and Arran’s NHS board, Lesley Bowie, said: “As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been almost four years since we were able to host the award scheme.

“Now that we can get together in a shared space it will be fantastic to recognise and celebrate the many wonderful people, projects and plans that represent the purpose, values and commitments of our organisation.”
