NORTH Ayrshire Table Tennis Club (NATTC) secured yet another Scottish national title over the weekend.

The club’s ‘A’ team - which usually consists of Martin Johnson, Jamie Johnson and Christopher Main went the full season unbeaten in the Scottish National League Division One.

This saw the side claim their fifth title in a row in the Scottish League.

Further emphasising the strength of the small county club - the league also featured their ‘B’ team this season - who have worked their way into the top of six divisions in Scotland.

Matches in the league consist of the three players from each team competing in two singles matches.

The league contains eight teams - so seven matches were played in total.

North Ayrshire ‘A’ won all seven matches - losing only six games across all seven matches.

Ever present Martin Johnson won all 14 of his games across the season, while brother Jamie lost only one of his 14.

Not only is this their fifth straight title, their dominance extends back over a decade now, with the club winning nine of the last 12 Scottish Division One titles.

What makes this victory all the sweeter, is both Jamie and Martin are two young 'prodigees' that Chris first began coaching as "wee boys" some 11 years ago.

Now he stars alongside the pair in their top team.

North Ayrshire ‘B’ also performed well - finishing the league un fourth position.
