Saltcoats’ Ayrshire Hospice charity shop is celebrating its one-year anniversary by giving back to customers through a weekend of fun.

In honour of its opening on February 25 2022, the shop will host a buy one get one free sale on all clothing, a ‘Teddy Treasure Trail’ with prizes for kids, and a volunteer recruitment event across February 24, 25, and 26.

Head of Retail for Ayrshire Hospice, Janice McPherson, said: “It’s been a great 12 months for the shop in Saltcoats thanks to the support it has received from the local community.

“The shop has re-established itself as part of the high street so quickly and we have built such a loyal customer base that helps the hospice to deliver its care and services to patients and their families across Ayrshire & Arran.

“We’d be delighted to see customers old and new next weekend to mark one year since the Hospice returned to Saltcoats.”

On Saturday - an exact year since the store opened - staff will cut a special cake at midday to mark the occasion.

In late 2019, the Ayrshire Hospice announced they would be shutting down the previous shop in Saltcoats meaning there were no shops in the town during 2020 and 2021.

After setting up shop once again in the town, the newest Saltcoats store has seen success, becoming a popular stop on the high street.

The shop is open between 10am-4pm Monday to Saturday and is closed on Sundays.
