A MAN has been arrested in connection with an assault on a woman in Saltcoats.
The incident took place yesterday evening, Sunday, February 26, before police attended the scene at around 9pm.
The alleged assault took place within a property on Springvale Street in the town.
Police confirmed they have arrested a 49-year-old man in connection with this, though further enquiries are still taking place.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of an assault on a woman at a property on Springvale Street in Saltcoats shortly after 9.10pm on Sunday, 26 February.
“A 49-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”
