POLICE are warning of disruption at part of a major commuter road in Ayrshire.

It comes at the A71 has had to be closed at the Moorfield Roundabout after a lorry overturned.

The roundabout is part of the typical commuter route from many other parts of the county to Crosshouse Hospital.

Police Scotland have not, at this time, indicated any timescale for the re-opening of the stretch of road.

Road users are being advised to find alternative routes for their commute at the moment.

A force spokesperson explained: "The A71 is currently closed at the Moorfield Roundabout, Kilmarnock due to an overturned lorry.

"Please avoid the area and use alternative routes at this time."
