Two North Ayrshire businesses were named the best in Scotland at the Scottish Wedding Awards last week.

Mike Crossland of Something New Bespoke Wedding Films won the ‘Couples’ Choice’ award thanks to the votes of his clients.

Also representing the area, Wullie Murray and Jaki Stewart Murray, of the Kilwinning-based Murray Kilt and Formalwear Hire, won the ‘Groomsmen Supplier of the Year Award’.

Mike said: “The whole of the wedding trade was represented from all over Scotland.

“Something New Bespoke Wedding Films had been voted for by the couples who had their weddings filmed.

“We were up against some tough competition from all over Scotland including a band, makeup artists and wedding cake makers.”

After working as a photo and video producer on a cruise ship and managing the Waterside Hotel in West Kilbride, Mike decided to combine his passions and experience to create his wedding film business.

Murray Kilt and Formalwear Hire is run by Wullie and Jaki and provides kilts and formalwear for weddings, proms and special events.

The ceremony took place on Wednesday, March 1, in the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.
